The gold metallic accents shine without being an eyesore while blending alongside the orange clothing. The skin actually feels pretty ghoulish, almost like a Halloween look, not only due to the orange and brown colours. The skin itself is visually beautiful, boasting a forest green and orange that seems almost foreign to a Scorpion design. Sub-Zero’s Guardian is a representation of Mortal Kombat’s history, and how far Scorpion has come. SUB-ZERO – This was a tough concept to come up with, but what I eventually settled on was that I wanted some way to telegraph the Cyberninjas without using anything cyber. Within the latest Mortal Kombat we see the Sub-zero as Bi-Han; the first iteration of this iconic character. Scorpion has had a tumultuous relationship with Sub-Zero (both Kuai Liang and his brother Bi-Han). Contradicting the bright oranges of Scorpion’s hellfire, the grey and black skin looks beautiful while Scorpion teleports and leaps across screens.
A part of Season 10’s Season of Shadows, each skin has a black and grey colour scheme, with shining blue symbols glimmering within the attires. This, along with the blue eyes, makes the skin seem almost godly. The jagged skin comes with all of Scorpion’s original gear within the Eternal Klash pack, allowing players to transform Scorpion into his younger self. If the correct gear is found the skin can be perfected, with an unmasked Hanzo Hasashi. Movesets, gear and skins are all options for players to change. Scorpion has dozens of skins to choose from, some classic and traditional and others more modern and unique.
The smoky greys combined with the dark brown and black leather really makes Scorpion seem like a dark, shadowy presence. The default yellow, red and black colour scheme looks great on Hanzo, and the silver armour adds a sense of bulk and power without seeming like too much. The sleek yellow armour is simplistic yet effective, with small silver accents making the attire shine. The padded clothing looks fantastic in the game, making the skin look torn out of Mortal Kombat 2. Details such as the leather hood, strapped gauntlets and metallic boots make the skin a great recreation of Scorpion’s past while allowing it to look modern and realistic. Pay close attention, there could be a few clues to what Kharacters we’ll see in the next MORTAL KOMBAT movie!
