I think what ended up motivating me the most was the idea that cosplay is this really big, vibrant community, one that didn’t emerge out of vacuum: things like science fiction conventions and fandom play a role in its creation, but I wanted to dig further into other things: how did Halloween play a role? In fact, if there was a poll between adults and kids to see who enjoys Halloween the most, it would probably be a close call.
